When speaking of Fiordland Lodge Andy Serkis – Co-Director and actor – ‘The Hobbit’, said “On the hills overlooking lake Te Anau lies the most relaxing, uniquely stylish Fiordland Lodge. With it’s fine wine and food, exceptionally warm staff, it is quite simply the perfect retreat on one’s journey through middle earth…” This sums up Fiordland Lodge perfectly and stays here cannot fail to give you wonderful memories to treasure forever.
Accommodation is split between four different types of rooms. There are 5 double Lodge rooms located on the ground floor, each opening directly onto the lodge lawn (four of these can be interconnecting, providing ideal accommodation for families or couples travelling together). Then upstairs there are four Deluxe Lodge Rooms, slightly more contemporary in style and with elevated views of the lake and mountains. Finally at the summit of the lodge is the Executive Suite, with tall windows, chunky feature beams, a separate lounge with fireplace and vast en-suite bathroom. Should these options not suit there are also the two traditional log cabins in the grounds, located about 200 metres behind the main lodge, with wonderful views of the lake, mountains and surrounding farmland. The cabins sleep four and five respectively, with a mezzanine bedroom above and 1 bathroom in each cabin.
There are endless activities to be enjoyed at Fiordland Lodge; including heli-hiking, kayaking the fiords, scenic flights, fly fishing, cave visits and countless cruises; all before returning to the wooden, log-style building of the hotel, the relax around roaring fires and enjoy the exceptional food and service on offer here.
