There are eighteen rooms at Fundu Lagoon, some right on the beachfront, others set back in the jungle, but all with beautiful ocean views. The rooms are traditional canvas safari tents, but set under ‘makuti’ thatch roofs on wooden decks. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and ceiling fans, mosquito nets, and in-room fridge and safe. Some also have private plunge pools on their terrace.
Hillside Rooms
The standard bungalows enjoy privacy, panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and a cooling breeze. On the private decks are a sofa and sunlounger.
Beachfront Rooms
The interior of the beachfront rooms are identical to the Hillside Rooms but they also benefit from direct acess to the beach with a couple of sunloungers, as well as their private decks.
Beach Suites
Situated right on the beach, these bungalows have an extensive private deck with a sunken seating area for relaxing or reading and a private plunge pool.
Jungle Suites
These bungalows offer the most privacy, set slightly back from the beach in the trees. They have extensive private decks with an elevated seating area and a plunge pool.
Superior Suites
The largest of the rooms at Fundu Lagoon, these extensive suites offer deluxe accommodation incorporating a stylish bedroom and an open plan living area. The spacious outside deck area has a plunge pool and plenty of space for private dining.
The cuisine at Fundu Lagoon is a fusion of Swahili and international, served in the main restaurant or the pool bar, or if you wish you can enjoy a private dinner on your room’s own deck. Once a week there is also a beach BBQ with a bonfire under the stars, and also Swahili-themed nights with dinner on the jetty. There are three bars and the jetty bar in particular is a spectacular spot for watching the sunset as you enjoy your cocktails.
