Baraza is one of those properties where you arrive and your jaw just hits the floor. The décor is spectacular, evoking the heritage of Zanzibar dating back to the era of the Sultans through a design that is a fusion of Arabic, Swahili and Indian; with Swahili arches, intricate hand carved cement decoration, beautiful antiques, hand made furniture and intricate brass lanterns.
It is an all-villa resort, with 14 one bedroom villas and 15 two bedroom villas, as well as one Presidential two bedroom villas. Each of the villas features luxury interiors, large bathrooms, a spacious terrace and private plunge pool as well as all the amenities you would expect from a five star hotel such as air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and a minibar. The one bedroom villas are closer to the sea front with the two-bedroom villas set slightly further back. This is reflected in the price making Baraza one of the best value properties we know of for families or couples travelling together looking for a two-bedroom villa.
As well as being a beautiful place for couples looking to relax or honeymooners after a romantic getaway, Baraza is also a wonderful option for families, with children of all ages welcome and a fully equipped kids club. The villas are well spaced out meaning that whatever your situation you will have plenty of privacy to enjoy your holiday.
Baraza Resort & Spa is a luxury five star resort on the south-eastern coast of Zanzibar. The hotel lies on the award winning Bwejuu beach, alongside it’s sister hotels, The Palms, and Breezes. Baraza itself is on a 240 metre stretch of fine sand beach, facing a coral reef that runs down the eastern shore of Zanzibar. The resort is approximately a 50 minute drive from Zanzibar airport or Stone Town, or a ten minute drive from the village of Bwejuu.

Dress code: Long trousers are required for men at dinner.
