Bellevue Syrene has the wow factor in many respects. From the moment you enter, walking along the pergola covered walkway, there is beauty to delight at every turn. Vines and wisteria drape over the terraces, with stone busts and figurines placed along the balcony edge lending the setting a real sense of grandeur. A large conservatory houses a grand piano that fills the room with peaceful music when the pianist is in residence in the evenings. The fine dining restaurant is located on the sea front next to the terrace bar so guests can enjoy watching the sun setting over the ocean each evening. Large reception rooms boast ornate yet contemporary chandeliers, and the atmosphere is one of peaceful luxury, in a style perfectly in tune with the local area.
The hotel rises from the foundations of a large Roman Villa, dating back to the II Century B.C and owned by the Roman Emperors. In 1820 the Villa was turned into a boutique hotel. The original 17th century frescos have been restored and are still visible. Today the hotel is a perfect balance between the ancient and modern philosophies of relaxation and comfort.
The fifty bedrooms and suites are spread throughout the hotel, all but two enjoying sea views. The hotel itself is positioned on the cliff face, with many of the rooms having balconies that are idyllic spots on which to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, watching the beach clubs along the coast come to life below you.
Bellevue Syrene has its own beach club, reached by taking the lift down the cliff and emerging from one of the fissures in the cliff façade. Here sun loungers are lined up so guests can relax to the sound of the water lapping against the rocks, and a beach club bar provides refreshments throughout the day.
Back up at the hotel guests can also enjoy refreshments from the juice bar situated to one side of the terrace, and the complimentary Club Lounge offers snacks and refreshments from 10am until 8pm. There are two restaurants which both offer outstanding views and during the summer La Pergola terrace is opened, providing meals during the day and turning into a piano bar in the evenings.
