There are 82 suites at Carlisle Bay, all ocean facing and some directly on the beachfront whilst others are set slightly back. All the suites open onto their own private terraces or balconies and double bed sun loungers, with some on the ground floor leading directly onto the beach. All the rooms deserve the term 'suite' as they are very generous in size and easily allow for additional beds for families.

The Garden Suites are large split-level rooms with an open-plan bedroom and sitting area overlooking the gardens and with a partial view of the ocean. Two of these suites can be connected to provide an ideal set up for families.

The Ocean Suites work well for couples or families and are located at the quieter end of the beach. These are also split level with an open-plan bedroom and sitting area and they have superb sea views. Several of these suites can be connected as well.

The Beach Suites are slightly larger in size and have a separate study or second bedroom which can accommodate and additional adult or two children under the age of 12. These suites are located either on the ground floor with a terrace or an upper floor with their own balcony.

Bay Suites are aimed more at couples and are romantic ocean fronted suites. Spacious and minimalistic, these beautiful adult-only suites feature butler service, have a Caribbean rum and vodka bar, and are equipped with Temple Spa luxury bath amenities. There are six Bay Suites and they are located near the Jetty in a tranquil, secluded hideaway.

The largest suites at the resort at the Carlisle Suites, perfect for families or groups travelling together. These suites each feature 3 bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. The suites also have a spacious sitting and dining area and their terraces are just steps from the beach and ocean.

Carlisle Bay is set on the south coast of Antigua, in what is very possibly the island's most beautiful bay. The white sand beaches curves around a sheltered cove, providing calm still waters whatever the weather. The hotel itself is set right on the beachfront with a wonderfully tropical backdrop of rolling hills and lush tropical rainforest. It is a thirty minute drive from Antigua Airport or from the capital of St John's. The popular destinations of English Harbour, Shirley Heights, Nelson's Dockyard and Jolly Harbour are all within a thirty minute drive as well.

Carlisle Bay is exactly the kind of place where you arrive and can't believe that it actually looks as good as it does in photos. The bay is exactly what makes the Caribbean such a sought after destination and guests staying at Carlisle Bay can revel in the fact that they're staying on the best beach on the island.

Carlisle Bay is also incredibly popular due to it's flexible meal plans. There are four wonderful restaurants at the hotel, each offering a different style of cuisine to suit every mood occasion. For drinks guests also have the choice of four different bars. The meal plans at Carlisle Bay are particularly notable due to the lack of restrictions on them. Guests here don't need to worry about being confined to particular restaurants, menus or wine lists and can take full advantage of the huge amount of choice on offer.

Meal Plans: The basic rate at the hotel is a Bed & Breakfast rate but they also offer a lunch supplement, dinner supplement or fully-inclusive supplement. Unlike so many other hotels these supplements do not restrict you to particular restaurants so guests can still enjoy the varied choice and a la carte menus and the Fully Inclusive supplement contains an extraordinary number of drinks, cocktails and wines.

Activities: non-motorised watersports are complimentary. Motorised activities come at an additional charge and take place in a neighbouring cove to preserve the tranquility of the bay. PADI diving courses are available and the resort also offers the PADI Bubblemaker program to introduce children aged 8 years and above to diving.

There are 9 tennis courts (four of which are floodlit) and complimentary tennis clinics are on offer. Private professional instruction is also available at an additional cost.

Families can benefit from the 'Cool Kids Club' for children under the age of 6 (children under 2 incur a $15 per hour charge), and the 'Crew Blue' program provides complimentary sporting and adventure programmes for children between 7 and 12 during selected school holidays.

The resort is closed for approximately a month each year, usually from late August until early October.
