The villas on Cocoa Island resemble Keralan boathouses and have an elegant but laid-back feel to them. They all lead off a meandering wooden pier and have private sun decks, big ceiling fans, roll-top bathtubs and walk-in showers. There are 5 different room catagories, beginning with the Dhoni Suites which are 75sqm and going up in size to the two COMO Villas, Sunset and Sunrise, which each encompass a huge 300sqm and have two-suite bedrooms connected by living and dining areas.
The COMO hotels are renowned for their delicious cuisine and Cocoa Island is no exception. The menus are modern, fresh and inspired by South Indian cuisine, with innovative Asian and Mediterranean twists. For anyone looking for more basic fare though they needn’t worry as the extensive menu also includes plenty of classic pastas and salads. Meals can be enjoyed by the infinity pool and the sea, or privately on your villa’s sundeck or castaway on a secluded spot of sand.
Cocoa Island is predominately a place of relaxation but there are also plenty of activities on offer. Morning and evening complimentary Yoga classes are held six days a week and once a week there is also a complimentary Pranayama and Meditation Class. Guests can also go snorkelling, catamaran sailing, windsurfing and kayaking and there are motorised boats to take you further afield for distant snorkelling trips, fishing, or for sunset cruises. To preserve the peace though you won’t find any jet-skis or other loud motorised water-sports near the island. The COMO Shambhala Spa Retreat on the island provides the ultimate relaxation, with healing traditions from Asia being used in combination with natural therapies from the sea and earth. The Spa consists of four treatments rooms, a hydrotherapy pool and a fitness centre.
