The most extraordinary thing about Giraffe Manor, that has made it famous worldwide, is its herd of resident Rothschild giraffe, who live within the grounds and visit the manor morning and evening, poking their long necks through the windows in the hope that some of the generous guests might like to share their breakfast.
When you aren’t busy feeding the giraffes there are still plenty of other things to entertain you. Guides are on hand to take you on a stroll through the sanctuary, or show you around the Afew Giraffe Centre. Close by is the Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where you can meet, feed and adopt a baby elephant. Also found nearby is the Karen Blixen museum, the setting for the remarkable tale of Out Of Africa.
The hotel has 12 bedrooms, split between the Giraffe Manor House and the Garden Manor. Each is distinctively decorated, all with elegant furnishings and individual quirks. Three of these are double bedrooms, four can be doubles or twins, one can be a twin, double or triple, and then finally there are two suites; the Finch Hatton Suite which sleeps up to 5 (2 adults and 3 children) and the Karen Blixen Suite which again sleeps up to 5 (2 adults and 3 children) and opens directly onto a courtyard.
There is complimentary WiFi and massages are available at an additional charge.
