Hotel Santa Caterina is a timeless classic on the Amalfi Coast. This 19th Century villa is today and elegant residence, perched between sea and sky and set amongst gorgeous gardens overflowing with bougainvillea, wisteria, roses and lemon trees. There is something for all the senses here with piano music drifting gently across the terrace and restaurant in the evenings, delicious food to be sampled at both of the restaurants and beauty everywhere you turn.
The hotel’s large estate stretches down the cliffside and guests can use the stairs or elevators to reach the exclusive beach club at the bottom. Here you can find the heated salt water pool and a sun deck spread with loungers right by the water’s edge. The hotel gym is also situated nearby with a sea view that could encourage even the most relaxed to head for a work-out. The beach club bar keeps guests refreshed with light snacks and drinks and the Al Mare restaurant can be found just above, looking out over the Mediterranean and serving delicious fresh food. Up in the main building the other, more formal, restaurant ‘Glicine’ is located, also with panoramic sea views and offering elegant and innovative dishes as well as a decadent tasting menu.
The hotel bedrooms are all designed with classic Italian interiors and quintessentially Mediterranean décor. Spacious and filled with light, rooms enjoy views over the sea or the gardens. The rooms are divided between the main hotel building and an adjacent building that is slightly more secluded and contains the Garden Suites. The hotel’s Villa Santa Caterina also houses further rooms and suites.
Hotel Santa Caterina located close to the centre of Amalfi, set right on the coastline, ideally located both for those wanting a base from which to explore the Amalfi Coast and those who wish to relax by the sea at a luxurious hotel.
The centre of Amalfi is a mere 15 minutes walk from the hotel and there is also a complimentary shuttle service that runs from the hotel into the centre of town every 30 minutes from 8am until midnight.
It would be hard to be unhappy at Hotel Santa Caterina as the atmosphere that seeps through the whole hotel is one of contentment and tranquillity. During the day you would be quite happy relaxing by the pool gazing out at the sea or exploring the many delights of the Amalfi Coast. In the evenings the hotel bars really come into their own, with gentle live music and countless candles providing an exquisite setting for evening cocktails.
Stays at Hotel Santa Caterina are on a Bed & Breakfast basis but Half Board and Full Board upgrades are available for stays of more than 3 days.
Children of all ages are welcome although there are no specific childcare facilities.
Parking is available at a rate of €15 per day.
