The rooms and suites at Kensho are decorated to the very highest standard, with traditional materials mixed in amongst contemporary furniture and neutral tones, promising a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. With a contemporary take on Cycladic design, the whole hotel is really a photographers paradise.
All the bedrooms, apart from the Zen rooms, open out onto their own white-washed balcony, with beautiful mountain or sea views and their own private outdoor plunge pool or jacuzzi. Double wardrobes provide plenty of storage and the spacious bathrooms offer freestanding bathtubs as well as a separate rainfall shower and are kitted out with luxury Hermés amenities. Each room is also equipped with an iPad with unlimited music lists and an app to make restaurant and spa reservations.
Kensho is set in the south-west of the island, at the top of a steep hill, overlooking the sea and with beautiful views across two coves. It is just a short walk down to Ornos beach, the beach bars and restaurants, whilst Mykonos town and the island's popular beach clubs are just a 10 minute drive away. Mykonos Airport is a 15 minute drive from the hotel.
With a picture-perfect location overlooking two coves, Kensho is an excellent example of a boutique hotel done just right. The bedrooms and suites are beautifully designed and extremely spacious. Many have their own private plunge pools or jacuzzis on their terraces. The hotel restaurant serves Asian and Latin dishes fused with traditional Mediterranean flavours. A subterranean spa provides the perfect relaxation sanctuary and the pool deck is the perfect place to while away the day with a good book.
Whilst extra beds and baby cots can be provided for children, Kensho Ornos is really more of a couples retreat.
