The Leobo Observatory is an exceptionally lavish private house and is ideal for groups of friends travelling together or large families. The Oberservatory itself sleeps 6 adults and 4 children and there are also 8 overspill chalets on the reserve to accommodate larger groups. Built by award winning architects the lodge is creative and fun with phenomenal views and decadent interiors. It comes staffed with a butler, maid and chef, as well as private safari guides. On the reserve there are plenty of plains game to be found, as well as hippo, crocodiles, buffalo and a plethora of bird life. Having a private lodge all to yourselves though also gives you all the options you might wish for in a home of your own, such as quad bikes to head out on as well as horses and mountain bikes.

The house itself is vast with several dining areas, a roof top bar and Jacuzzi, and even a research grade overservatory with a 20 inch telescope. Being in such a remote part of the Waterberg there is no light pollution so the star gazing is incredible. Life on the Leobo Reserve takes things to a completely different level to what you would find elsewhere.

Leobo Observatory on Leobo Private Reserve is a unique exclusive use safari lodge, offering a range of extraordinary activities and the highest level of luxury possible. Set on an entirely private 20,000 acre reserve in the Waterberg with an excellent range of wildlife and the mountains providing a beautiful backdrop. The Waterberg region is particularly diverse and encompasses rugged rocks, mountainous areas, bushveld savannah, gorges and an abundance of wildlife.

Leobo Private Reserve really is the last word in opulence and luxury. It comes with a fairly hefty price tag but you have exclusive use of a safari lodge like no other and can enjoy activities you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else such as skydiving from a helicopter and even heli-paintballing. Guests have full access to the entire estate and all it’s facilities and for anyone wanting complete privacy and exclusivity we couldn’t recommend anywhere more highly.

The reserve is owned by an English couple with a huge imagination, sense of adventure, 6 children and a great sense of humour. All of this comes together to make this the most incredibly fun lodge, at which guests can indulge in as much of everything on offer as they please. There are no daily schedules or time restrictions and every expectation will be surpassed.

Leobo Private Reserve is a 3 hour drive north of Johannesburg. Leobo is situated in a malaria-free area.
