There are a variety of different view categories at the hotel, each named after a different type of wine. With such beautiful views to take advantage of, even the smallest rooms are wonderful and all of them are beautiful decorated in light natural tones to complement the incredible surroundings. Some of the larger rooms come with lounge areas, private terraces and even plunge pools, whilst some of the smallest we feel are the most romantic, with exposed beams and lofty roofs. If you’re travelling as a large group or family, or simply looking for a bit more privacy then there is also The Manor House, a four bedroom private villa with lounge, kitchen, gym, and two swimming pools.
For gourmet dining at Mont Rochelle there is MIKO restaurant which serves a blend of international dishes and has a wonderful terrace on which to enjoy your pre-dinner cocktails. Alternatively for something a bit lighter there is the Country Kitchen, which joins up to the hotel’s wine cellar and is the ideal place for enjoying a lunch in the sunshine or a relaxed dinner. There is also a spa and hamman for guests’ use, or if you feel like being active there is a tennis court and plenty of golf courses and excellent hiking routes in the nearby area.
Mont Rochelle is set in Franschhoek, within walking distance o the high street and just under an hour's drive from Cape Town. It is also within 35 minutes drive of the Stellenbosch, Paarl and Somerset West wine routes. The grounds at Mont Rochelle cover approximately 100 acres and as the estate is set on a hill above the town the hotel has sweeping views over the vineyards and undulating countryside of the surrounding area, out to the mountains beyond. With an outdoor pool to relax around in the sun, two acclaimed restaurants on site, an extensive cellar offering wine-tastings, and the village of Franschhoek within walking distance, everything you could wish for is right here.
A fantastic option for both families and couples we feel that Mont Rochelle really has it all. The hotel is just a short stroll away from the Franschhoek high street so you can wander out and explore at your leisure. One of our favourite activities that Mont Rochelle can arrange for you is horseback riding with wine tasting, arriving at the wine cellar on horseback.
