RAAS Jodhpur is the city's first real luxury boutique hotel and the owners have done the most exceptional job of blending modern elegance and design with ancient styles and structures. Contemporary buildings are grounded in tradition and decorated with intricate architectural carvings in the style of the original 18th century Haveli. The red sandstone used throughout the hotel is typical of the area and the modern design carves an exciting new style into an age-old stone carving industry. Within the hotel walls is a courtyard oasis, complete with heated swimming pool, spa, restaurant, bar and 'Gem Palace' shop. When guests feel like wandering beyond the hotel walls they can enjoy the central location with many of the best sites in the city either a short walk away or just a quick tuk-tuk ride.
There are thirty-nine rooms and suites throughout the hotel, each with a distinctive design whilst adhering to RAAS's signature style. Modern artwork perfectly complements the age-old pink sandstone and light filters through archways and windows everywhere. Flashes of Jodhpur blue light up the rooms and every room boasts plenty of space and all the modern conveniences you could wish for. There are various different types of room, many with their own private terrace, and families or groups travelling together will enjoy the Heritage Suites where two suites share a common balcony.
RAAS offers a choice of restaurants within the hotel, with Baradari open all day offering a range of Indian and international cuisine with many of the ingredients hone-grown within the chef's garden. Darikhana offers an alfresco option on a terrace above the old stables with spectacular views of the Mehrangarh Fort. Evenings here with the fort lit up in the back ground are quite simply stunning. Private dining in various settings around the courtyard, pool and gardens is also an option. Finally The Stepwell House Cafe serves lunch and dinner with coffee and cocktails between and can be accessed from one of the town squares or from a private door from RAAS onto the Step Well itself.
RAAS Jodphur can be found in the affluent north-eastern quarter of Jodhpur's renowned Walled City. It is a peaceful haven from the hustle and bustle going on around the city and the combination of modern and ancient buildings that make up the hotel are based around an original eighteenth century Haveli. Spectacular views of the Mehrangarh Fort greet you as soon as you enter the hotel and these views can be enjoyed throughout the property.

Jodhpur itself is one of Rajasthan's loveliest cities, and jewellery shopping here is hard to resist. After the hustle and bustle of the winding streets it is pure bliss to retreat behind RAAS's walls and relax in the gardens or by the pool. RAAS also has their own tuk-tuks, one a lovely signature blue one in homage to the 'Blue City of Jodhpur', the other a fully electric one - yet another indication of RAAS's dedication to the environment, alongside their use of only glass water bottles and ban on plastic straws.
