Having recently undergone a complete refurbishment, Somalisa Acacia now brings new levels of luxury and exclusivity to Hwange National Park.

The camp consists of two family suites, each with two bedrooms linked by a wooden walkway, and two more double tents. All bedrooms are en-suite and have gauze sliding doors giving 180 degree views, a wood-burner for chilly nights, overhead fans, a vast copper bathtub and indoor and outdoor showers.

In front of the camp is a large deck area with a small swimming pool and outdoor boma dining area. In front of this is a watering hole that is particularly popular with the elephants that tend to visit it frequently throughout the day.

Somalisa Acacia is a small safari camp situated in Hwange National Park, in an area famed for it’s huge elephant herds. Easily accessible from Victoria Falls, the camp can be reached by a short flight or by car. Somalisa Acacia is named for the acacia island on which it is set, on the edge of what used to be a flood plain many years ago. The camp has wonderful views across the watering hole in front of it, which is incredibly popular with its frequent elephant visitors.

Whilst the camp can be booked on a per tent basis we feel that it is perfectly suited for large groups wanting to take it over on an exclusive use basis. For a couple of multi-generational families travelling together it really couldn’t be more perfect and you’d have your own private vehicles, guides and chef to arrange the days exactly how you choose.

Somalisa Acacia can be reached by road or air. The drive from Victoria Falls takes approximately 3-4 hours. Alternatively guests can fly by charter flight to Manga airstrip which is about a 30 minute game drive from the camp.

Somalisa Acacia is open all year round and children of all ages are welcome. Walking activities however are restricted to those over the age of 16.

Somalisa Acacia is fully inclusive. Rates include: accommodation, all meals, beverages (excluding premium imported spirits and champagne), laundry, emergency medical evacuation insurance, National Parks Fees.
