The Oberoi Amarvilas is one of the most iconic hotels in the world due to it's spectacular view of the Taj Mahal. The hotel bar is in fact the only bar in the world with views of the Taj Mahal and drinks here or on the bar terrace are exceptional. The whole resort is a picturesque displace of terraced lawns, tinkling fountains, reflection pools and pavilions with sumptuous interiors. The colourful umbrellas around the pool area create a beautifully cheery picture with fountains spilling down the walkways on either side of the pool and lush gardens spreading beyond with the Taj Mahal towering over them in the distance.
There are 95 rooms and seven suites at The Oberoi Amarvilas, and all either have balconies or vast floor to ceiling windows looking out to the Taj Mahal. Burma Teak flooring, tea armoires and elegant marble bathrooms take you back to an era of Emperors and Prices.
The hotel has two main restaurants, one serving traditional Indian cuisine and the other both International and Indian dishes. Afternoon tea is served in the lounge or on the hotel terrace, and the bar offers a wide variety of cocktails each evening.
The Oberoi Amarvilas is located in Agra, just 600 metres from the world-famous Taj Mahal. Guests can enjoy a gentle stroll down to the Taj Mahal or hop onto the hotel golf buggies which deliver guests back and forth throughout the day. Agra is approximately a three and a half hour drive from Delhi, or there is a domestic airport just thirty minutes from the hotel. The railway station is just 20 minutes away.
