There are 97 rooms at Therasia, many of which enjoy beautiful sea views of Lipari and the other islands of the archipelago. Other rooms look over to the majesty of the island's volcano. With a calming Mediterranean décor, the bedrooms are equipped with every comfort needed for a relaxing stay and all the modern conveniences you could wish for. All of them also benefit from a balcony and terrace so that guests can enjoy the outdoors and the views as much as possible.

The Therasia spa offers a wide range of treatments and therapies; many taking inspiration from the Volcanic nature of its' surroundings. Guests can spend their days luxuriating in the spa or simply relaxing on the daybeds beside the infinity seawater swimming pool. For those that prefer to swim in the sea there is a rocky platform just below the hotel from which you can enjoy the crystal clear Aeolian waters. Should you wish to head out to the beach, there is a courtesy shuttle bus to the black sand beach just a ten minute drive away, equipped with sun-loungers and parasols. Each of the nearby beaches offers something different, whether it is the striking black sand beach of Porto Ponente, or Fumarole Beach where the water is warmed by the underwater hot springs. Alternatively Sabbienere beach is particularly popular with families as its shallow waters provide the ideal play place for children.

At Therasia Resort Sea & Spa, Sicilian cuisine is reinterpreted with imagination. “L’Arcipelago”, with its large terrace on the Faraglioni of Lipari, is the perfect synthesis of tradition and simplicity; “Il Cappero”, a Michelin starred restaurant whose gourmet cuisine is the result of innovation and reinterpretation of typical Sicilian dishes; “I Grusoni”, with its informal atmosphere, ideal for a snack, a pizza and a light lunch by the pool. I Faraglioni Bar and I Russuri Bar also provide additional spots for enjoying cocktails and drinks accompanied by spectacular views.

Vulcano is a magical place where visitors can enjoy activities in the heart of unspoiled nature: from snorkelling, to diving to discover the rich and vibrant seabed, to excursions and trekking paths, like the renowned ‘Salita al Gran Cratere’ - ‘Ascent of the Grand Crater’. Spend your days admiring Vulcano’s coast and the other protagonists of this incredible archipelago on a boat charter; or rent a scooter or quad to explore the hidden and most fascinating spots of the island all by yourself. The hotel concierge can help you organise any excursions, and they also offer a range of private tours that are truly exceptional.
Another activity popular with tourists is visiting the mudbaths on the island. However be warned, the sulphuric volcano smell that will greet you as your disembark from the hydrofoil is particularly prevalent in the mud and may cling to your skin for days after!

Therasia can be found on the island of Volcano, one of the seven Aeolian Islands, just off the coast of Sicily. The hotel is nestled on a promontory and has exceptional views across to the island of Lipari. On a clear day you can see right across to the islands of Salina, Stromboli, Panarea, Alicudi and Filicudi.

The closest airport to Therasia is Catania. From there it is a 2 hour drive to Milazzo Port, from where you catch the hydrofoil to Vulcano Island (which takes approximately 45 minutes). Alternatively you can fly to Palermo Airport and then catch the ferry to Vulcano (approximately 4 hours). The port at Vulcano is just a 10 minute drive from the hotel and a complimentary transfer is provided to collect you.

There are few places with views to rival Therasia. Whilst not the easiest destination to reach the rugged landscape is well worth the journey and the hotel enjoys a spectacular position from which to watch the sun setting each evening over the ocean with the other Aeolian Islands jutting up from the horizon.

Children of all ages are welcome and babysitting is available at an additional charge. There are family rooms. Children under 2 years old stay for free and children under 12 years old stay at 50% of the adult rate.

Therasia Resort, Sea & Spa is open from mid-April to mid-October each year.
