A luxury lodge like Tongabezi on the banks of the Zambezi River is the perfect place to unwind before or after a safari. From here you can visit the Victoria Falls, enjoy day trips to Livingstone, and even partake in some safari activities.
Accommodation is divided amongst cottages on the riverbanks, and some larger cottages called the ‘Houses’. The cottages are all en-suite and enjoy beautiful river views. Every room at Tongabezi has a valet assigned to it to make sure guests stay is as perfect as possible.
The houses are all quite different to suit a range of different guests. There is the romantic Honeymoon House with a private balcony perfect for dinners under the stars. Or to really enjoy the sounds of nature all around you opt for the Bird House or the Tree House, each of which are open-fronted and have wonderful river views. The Tree House in particular is particularly secluded, built into the cliff front and reached by a stone path that winds along the cliff face. Another great option is the Nut House, fully enclosed and with a private plunge pool.
Or for groups travelling together the Dog House is ideal, with separate buildings connected via raised walkways and encompassing two en-suite suites and a central living area with dining room and infinity plunge pool. The Dog House also has a private guide, boat and vehicle.
For families visiting Tongabezi we’d recommend the Garden House. It’s the only House without river views but it has two fabulous en-suite bedrooms, a private dining room, a large lounge and an enclosed garden and plunge pool. The personal valet can also help with arranging any extra activitites for the youngsters.
The main parts of Tongabezi lodge match up to the beauty of the rooms in every way. The lounge, dining areas and swimming pool all offer beautiful views of the Zambezi River. There is also ‘The Lookout’ a wonderful spot with river views that can be used for casual dining, private dining and reading.
