Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is set in one of the most remote parts of the reserve, which has the benefit of playing host to far fewer tourists than any other part of the park. The area is home to plenty of resident game year round but in June and July the Grumeti region is lying right in the path of the Great Wildebeest Migration, offering great sightings and river crossings. There is also a topi migration in the area and it is the only place in Tanzania where you can see black and white colobus monkeys. The camp is also situated on a by-water of the Grumeti River, famed for it's dramatic wildebeest crossings and enormous Nile crocodiles. Guests can also enjoy the noises of the pod of hippos and the camp is in fact the only camp in the Serengeti to look out onto a hippo pool. 

Whilst many people head to the Serengeti just for a chance of seeing the Great Migration guests at Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp can be assured of fantastic game viewing all year round. There are huge prides of lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena in the area as well as big buffalo and elephant herds so there is always plenty of action. Hippos are also a frequent visitor to the camp. 

Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is reached by daily scheduled flights from Arusha to Grumeti Airstrip, followed by a 5-10 minute drive to the camp. 

Board Basis: Fully Inclusive. - Rates include: Accommodation, three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, refreshments whilst out on activities, emergency evacuation insurance, transfers to and from the airstrip. Rates exclude: telephone calls, safari shop purchases, gratuities, champagne, cognac, fine wines, premium brand spirits and cigars, tourism development levy, park and conservancy fees.

In-room massages are available at the camp. 

Children are welcome at Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp although children 5 years and younger cannot participate in game drives. Children aged 6 - 11 can at the lodge manager's discretion. Childminding is available at an additional cost. 

Please note that the camp is situated in a malaria area and the necessary precautions should be taken. 

There are charging facilities in camp although please note that the generator is usually switched off over night. 

A 'Gym In A Basket' is provided in each tent.
