The farmhouse has four vast en-suite bedrooms and lots of communal living space, as well as many private corners for anyone wanting a bit of peace and quiet. Each of the bedrooms has it’s own large veranda and a butler hatch for unobtrusive morning service. With a private 4×4 safari vehicle as well as the villa’s own butler, chef, ranger and tracker team, guests really couldn’t be taken care of any better.

The reserve is situated in the Eastern Cape, making it an easy spot to get to and particularly ideal for anyone wishing to finish a journey along the Garden Route with an unforgettable safari. Days here are varied and exciting, with game drives, bush walks, fishing and even rhino tracking and darting on offer and evenings are spent with wonderful dinners cooked in the interactive farm-style kitchen and served in the candle-lit dining room, on the farmhouse terrace, or in the boma under a blanket of stars.

Kwandwe Melton Manor is a contemporary exclusive use farmhouse with four en-suite bedrooms in the 54,000 acre Kwandwe Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. This is the largest privately owned Big 5 game viewing area in the country, non-malarial and easy to get to being just a short flight from Port Elizabeth or Plettenberg Bay or a 1 hour 45 minute drive from Port Elizabeth. The lodge has sweeping views of the afromontane forests and has been cleverly designed around a large central courtyard and swimming pool, giving it a wonderfully sociable feel. Kwandwe Private Game Reserve lies approximately 65km from the coast and 45km inland from Grahamstown.

There aren’t many private four bedroom safari lodges and this has to be our ultimate favourite. The décor and service are utterly on point and the farmhouse has so much space that even if you fill every bedroom there are countless private refuge spots for anyone wanting some peace and quiet. It works incredibly well for families travelling together or for large groups of friends or if you’re looking for something a little smaller then there is the 3 bedroom Kwandwe Uplands Homestead also on the reserve. Both properties are snapped up like gold dust over the festive season and holidays though so if you’re looking to make Christmas, New Year or Easter the most memorable time imaginable then be sure to get in touch as early as possible!

Kwandwe Melton Manor is available for groups up to 8 people, and comes with a private safari vehicle, guide, tracker, chef and a butler.

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve is a malaria free destination.

Children of all ages are accepted at Kwandwe Melton Manor.

A gym in a bag is provided in the manor. In-room spa treatments are also available.

Kwandwe Melton Manor is closed each year from 17th May to 11th June.
