The hotel itself has a very unique and grand style, quite unlike anywhere else in the area, with a stately hall and dining room, glittering Indian chandeliers hanging from the vaulted ceilings, beautiful artwork, elegant antiques, and peacocks roaming the gardens. The infinity pool looks out over the beautiful surrounding countryside, and the hotel focuses on the incredible gastronomy and ingredients of the Franschhoek Valley, offering fine dining in the palatial dining room, or outside on the terrace.

The eleven suites within the hotel are ideal for couples, whilst the villas dotted throughout the grounds provide families, groups or couples looking for a bit more privacy with their dream accommodation. La Residence also has two in-house spa therapists, offering a range of relaxing treatments either indoors or, if the weather is nice, outside in the Tea House overlooking the dam.

La Residence is a boutique hotel in the Franschhoek Valley that is the very height of luxury and epitome of opulence. With a breath-taking mountain backdrop and stunning views of the rolling hills and vineyards surrounding the hotel’s private 30 acre estate, life doesn’t get much better than this. It is also just a 10 minute drive or half hour walk from the picturesque town of Franschhoek itself, meaning that if you are able to drag yourself away from the hotel then dining out at the many excellent restaurants in the area couldn’t be easier.

La Residence is one of those places that really will leave you with lasting memories. We think it is ideal just after a city break in Cape Town, or to relax after energetic days on safari. The individuality of the hotel is something that will really strike you, and the service and food here really is unsurpassable (as is the knowledge of La Residence’s in-house sommelier!) The bedrooms are all very different in style so we would recommend discussing with your travel specialist the various options so that we can select the suite most suited for you.

La Residence is a member of the prestigious Royal Portfolio Collection. Fora phenomenal itinerary combine La Residence with one or more of it's sister properties: Birkenhead House in Hermanus, Royal Malawane Safari Lodge in the Kruger, and The Silo and The One Above in Cape Town.

La Residence has 11 double luxury suites and 5 villas (ranging from 1 - 3 bedrooms)

Children over the age of 12 are welcome in the La Residence suites. In the villas all ages are welcome.
