This luxury resort has beautiful tropical gardens, plenty of water features, and a white sand beach leading down to the Indian Ocean; all combining to make it a truly wonderful getaway for anyone wanting a tranquil escape. The beach is always peaceful and quiet as only non-motorised watersports are permitted at the hotel. Activities such as scuba diving, waterskiing and others can be arranged elsewhere. There is an award-winning Shanti Spa at the hotel, making this one of the best resorts for travellers wanting a spa retreat. All of the suites and villas are ocean facing and the villas all have private pools. For families or friends travelling together there is a range of two bedroom villas, as well as the vast Shanti Villa.

Breakfast is usually served right next to the beach and there are a range of dining options at the hotel, paricularly of note are the barefoot Fish Shack by the waters edge and the rustic 'Farm to Table' menu available on certain days in the vegetable garden. Also fantastic is the Rum Shed, a brilliant place for evening cocktails with over 180 different rums on offer and an unbelievable atmosphere and vibe. Picnics are also offered round the gardens so guests will certainly never find themselves short of dining locations.

There are two floodlit tennis courts on site and the Avalon Golf Course is just 10 minutes from the resort. Morning yoga sessions, evening meditation and cooking classes are also all on offer. Children are very welcome at Shanti Maurice and there is a complimentary kids club from those between 3 and 12 years old.

Shanti Maurice is a relaxed yet luxurious retreat on the wilder south coast of Mauritius, nestled amongst sugar cane fields and the sea, between Blue Bay and Le Morne, on one of the island’s best beaches, a pristine horseshoe coral sand cove. Shanti Maurice is spread out over 36 acres of tropical beachfront garden. The hotel is approximately a 40 minute drive from the airport, or 65 minutes from the capital, Port Louis.

The south of Mauritius is remarkably unspoilt with fewer visitors than the rest of the island so perfect for those who wish to see some magnificent scenery and avoid the crowds. The Shanti Spa is one of the largest in the Indian Ocean, covering 7,000sqm, with 25 treatment rooms including dedicated yoga, ayurveda and meditation pavilions as well as a fully equipped fitness and Pilates area.

Keen golfers will appreciate the unlimited complimentary green fee at 'Avalon Golf Estate' an 18-hole championship golf course just 25 minutes away from the resort. A shuttle service, golf buggy and driving range balls are also provided.

Kids stay, eat and play for free at Shanti Maurice. The kids club covers 2,000sqm and has a private kid's pool. It welcomes children from 3 to 12 years old and is open from 10am to 10pm.

Bicycles are available free for use within the Resort for a maximum of 2 hours per day.
