Rajmahal Palace is a boutique hotel like no other. With an extraordinarily rich history as the home of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the palace has witnessed over two hundred and fifty years of events and, over the years, has hosted Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, as well as several other members of the British Royal Family and countless international celebrities such as Jackie Kennedy and the Shah of Iran.
Renowned designer, Adil Ahmad, oversaw an extensive renovation of the property, which today evokes memories of an enchanting bygone era and invites guests to enjoy a taste of palace life, and become part of its history. Rich colours, opulent interiors, striking wallpaper, glittering chandeliers and luxurious furnishings all combine to present a hotel that is a thing of beauty. The wallpaper was specially created for each room within the palace, and tells the stories of Jaipur and the history of the Kingdom Amer.
The guest rooms are divided among Palace Rooms, Palace Suites, Royal Suites and Royal Apartments. Two of the suites have two-bedrooms so work well for families or guests travelling with staff. Each of the rooms are beautifully and individually decorated, although guests must be aware that some bedrooms do not have windows and this should be born in mind when making their room selection.
The palace has various spacious lounge areas and extensive gardens that have hosted countless parties and events over the years. The various dining rooms are all also individually decorated and pay homage to the palace's rich history as well as the history of Jaipur. The spacious lawns are a particularly wonderful feature of the property, creating a real oasis within the city and a most delightful place to relax and enjoy afternoon tea or some drinks. The latest addition to the property is an Italian inspired café, offering a range of light snacks and drinks throughout the day.
