Wolwedans Boulders Camp is great either as a stand-alone destination, or even better in conjunction with one of its sister lodges in the reserve. Being the most remote out of the lodges it has a very exclusive feel, and is reached by a scenic 4×4 drive through beautiful landscapes that takes about an hour and a half.
There are just four tented chalets at Boulders Camp, each built on raised wooden decks against the granite boulders behind them. Canvas stretches across the wooden frame giving it a typical safari feel and the open fronts and sides allow for constant enjoyment of the view. Each tent has a large four-poster bed in the centre of it, draped with mosquito netting, an en-suite bathroom and of course a deck are with seating. Decorated with natural earthy tones the chalets perfectly complement their surroundings.
The main part of the camp is made up of a dining tent and a lounge tent connected by the kitchen between them. Antique furniture, leather sofas, an open fireplace and plenty of hanging lanterns make this a cosy and snug are to settle down at in the evenings. There is also a small plunge pool to cool off in on hot days.
The huge open fireplace, set within a semi-circle of boulders, provides the perfect spot to enjoy drinks and exchange stories. Sundowners can also be enjoyed atop a nearby mountainous plateau from where guests can enjoy incredible views of the vast beauty around them.
